International Registration of Industrial Designs
Hague system for international registration of industrial designs is applicable to the Member States of the Hague Agreement administered by the International Bureau of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement is effective from 1 April 2004. As regards the European Community act is in force since 1 January 2008.
Joining the European Community (EC) EC allows the designation of an international registration under the Geneva Act. If no refusal uttered, that international registration will have the same effect within the European Community as the Community design. Effects of an international registration designating the European Community shall have effect from the date of registration.
Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market is not receiving Office, which means that the application for international registration shall be filed directly with WIPO. To be filed such a request is not necessary to use a basic national application or registration or application or registration of a Community design.
